Een uitnodiging om nieuwe klanken te horen.

Met zijn iconische compositie 4’33 nodigde John Cage in 1952 luisteraars uit om aandachtig te luisteren naar hun omgeving en de subtiele geluiden van hun eigen hartslag en ademhaling. Sindsdien daagt nieuwe muziek ons voortdurend uit om de wereld op een nieuwe manier te beluisteren.

Jürg Frey wereldpremière (commissioned by NEuE)

De Zwitserse componist Jürg Frey creëert werken die de grenzen van het hoorbare verkennen. Zijn composities maken gebruik van spaarzaam klankmateriaal en stiltes, waardoor stilte zelf het onderwerp van de muziek wordt. Het resultaat is een uitnodiging tot reflectie en een vernieuwde ervaring van klank.
