An opera series with diverse themes and musical styles, characteristic of what opera is. Colorful, captivating, grand, and expressive! This season we are once again presenting a chamber opera in the Nieuwe Kerk, an intimate version of Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande, about secret love with fatal consequences. Also featured is a theme that is more relevant now than ever, music about war and oppression, in the monumental Waiting for the Barbarians by Philip Glass. Additionally, we will look at the lighter side with Rossini's comedic Cinderella. And, at the end of the season, we will even take a cheerful detour to the playful Frau Luna. All emotions will be present, wonderfully tumultuous and extravagant, just as opera should be.
This is how the series discount works

- You will now see all the concerts of that series in your shopping cart;
- For each concert, choose either Choose your own seats or Automatic placement;
- If you choose automatic placement, select the price type Series discount (below Rank 1);
- If you choose your own seats, the correct price type will be selected automatically;
- Go to the next concert in the series and repeat these steps, or click the Repeat seat selection button;
- Once you’ve selected seats for all concerts, you can proceed to checkout.
- Please note: you can only apply the series discount if all concerts in the series are in your shopping cart.
- Exchanges and/or cancellations within a series are not possible (series by the Residentie Orkest and NDT can only be exchanged for the same concert or performance on a different date).
