Hadewych van Gent takes you on a musical journey in which her voice and cello meet as equal sound-makers - sometimes separate, sometimes fused into a single voice. Together with her ensemble, she explores echoes of folk music from different countries, the root of all music.

Programme

Music from Hildegard von Bingen, Rebecca Clarke & Fazıl Say

Ancient melodies resound in the present, revealing how sounds have moved, blended and been renewed across the centuries. From this primal layer, Hadewych seeks new repertoire for her unique combination of voice and cello, with striking cello solos also helping to tell the story. The result is an intimate listening experience in which it becomes tangible that we all have our own roots - and yet belong together.
