At the invitation of programmer Saskia Lankhoorn, soprano Elisabeth Hetherington (winner of the Dutch Classical Talent Award and the Dutch Music Prize) has put together a number of beautiful programs in which she showcases her versatility, virtuosity, and vision of classical music into the 21st century in a personal way. She collaborates with Cassandra Miller (international guest composer at the Royal Conservatory) and Dutch composer/poet Rozali Hirs. Together with writer, theater maker, and spoken-word artist Danielle Zawadi, Elisabeth is searching for a contemporary version of Robert Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben, a project co-produced with the Hague literature festival Writers Unlimited. Through this approach, you will encounter classical music in a very personal and versatile way, from historically informed to fresh off the 21st-century press, and from baroque to Joni Mitchell.
