Privacy statement of Amare

We treat your personal data with care and handle it in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy statement explains which data we collect about you, the purposes for which we do so, how long we keep the data, and what your rights are.

The personal data we collect
When offering products and services, we may process personal data. These products or services may include:

  • shows
  • newsletter
  • lessons and/or courses
  • customer account
  • donorship
  • website product sales

The type and scope of the personal data we process differs per product or service. Examples may include name, address, place of residence, telephone number, email address, IP address, purchase history and amount spent. If you wish to obtain a complete overview of your data, you can submit a request to inspect your data (see the section Your Rights further down).

What we do with your data
We only process the data necessary to:

  • conclude an agreement for a product or service (e.g. sale of a ticket for a show);
  • perform the agreed service or deliver a product (e.g. service emails relating to the show);
  • inform you about our products and services or about our other products and services (e.g. our general newsletter) and to tailor this information as accurately as possible to your interests and personal preferences (e.g. targeted offers per email);
  • enable you to use our website. We use functional, analytical and tracking cookies (and comparable technologies). Third parties also place tracking cookies in order to show you personalised advertisements outside of our website. Tracking cookies are also placed by social media networks. Please refer to our cookie policy (see hereafter);
  • perform market research for the development of products and services and other purposes relating to our general operations;
  • comply with the legislation and regulations that we are subject to.

Unsubscribing from the informational emails
We only wish to offer you information about our services and products if you want us to. We will therefore ask for your permission to do so. You can also unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by sending an email to

Do you keep customer profiles?
We can combine the customer data provided by you to create a customer profile. We do this in order to gain insight into our customer base and to be able to offer our products/services in a more targeted manner.

We do this in the following ways:
When you create an account, buy a ticket or otherwise provide data, we may combine data, such as your postcode, the type of show, purchased tickets and amount spent. If you object against this, you have various options at your disposal (see Your Rights below).

Our retention period
We do not keep your personal data for any longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.

If you have not purchased a ticket or received any other form of product or service from us or visited our website for a period of five years, the retention period ends. If you have indicated that you wish to receive newsletters from us by email, we will keep your data until you unsubscribe. After the retention period ends, your personal data are removed from our systems.

Sharing personal data with third parties 

For the performance of our services and other business activities, we make use of third parties (e.g. printers, hosting services, software suppliers and automation service providers). To the extent that these third parties process your data for the performance of the relevant services and business activities, we take the necessary contractual, technical and organisational precautions to ensure that your data are processed with care.

Additionally, in some instances your name, address, postal code, place of residence, telephone number, email address, performance date, the number of tickets bought and the amount of money spent can be shared with co-organisers of the specific event for which you bought tickets. For instance, this applies for the concerts and performances organised by our house companies Residentie Orkest (hereafter: RO), Koninklijk Conservatorium (hereafter: KC) and Nederlands Dans Theater (hereafter: NDT). Our house companies have direct access to our ticket system for their own concerts and/or performances in Amare. Co-organisers other than RO, KC and NDT are only provided with your email address. Our partners may contact you to: (i) provide you with information regarding shows or offers regarding shows, and (ii) perform data analyses and customer satisfaction surveys. There are clear agreements in place with these partners to maintain optimum security and confidentiality. If you object to the use of your personal data by our partners, you can notify Amare of this through (see: What are my rights?).

The content on our website may also include links to the websites of other parties. We have no influence over these websites and bear no responsibility whatsoever regarding the content of the websites to which these links refer. We recommend that you study the information about privacy protection available on these websites.

We have taken technical and organisational security measures in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR to protect the data we keep against loss or unlawful processing. Your data will be treated confidentially and stored on secured servers.
