The restored Duyschot/Witte organ in the Nieuwe Kerk will welcome a distinguished guest this season: organist and Sweelinck Prize winner Francesca Ajossa. With Orgel in dialoog, she is creating three concerts centered on combinations with voices, strings, and dance. In Messiaen’s Le Corps Glorieux, dancers bring the organist’s hidden movements to life. Together with Soundwave Collective, she will perform, among other works, Respighi’s suite for strings and organ, and together with Amare’s Artist in Residence and soprano Elisabeth Hetherington, she will present her program From Darkness to Light, a musical journey beginning with Gregorian chant and culminating in works by Arvo Pärt.
