Amare for Ukraine

Amare, Residentie Orkest, Royal Conservatoire, Het Nationale Theater and Nederlands Dans Theater are, like everyone else, deeply shocked by the developments in Ukraine. Their sympathy goes out to the victims of the war. To show their solidarity and support, Amare & Friends are organising a benefit concert on Sunday 6 March in the Amare Concert Hall.
Alongside musicians from the Residentie Orkest, students from the Royal Conservatoire and actors from het Nationale Theater, various soloist friends from Ukraine and elsewhere will perform, including pianist Anna Fedorova, cellist Maya Fridman, percussionist Konstantyn Napolov, pianist Helena Basilova and violist Hannah Strijbos. Besides music and stories from Ukraine, the programme includes works by Chopin, Skoryk, Vasks, Elgar, Strootman, Fondse and Bach.
For this pay-as-you-like concert, visitors decide for themselves what they want to pay for a ticket. The minimum price is five euros. NDT offers a livestream with the pay-as-you-like principle for which tickets can be purchased. All the proceeds of the concert and the livestream will go to Giro555 of the Samenwerkende Hulporganisaties for the relief of Ukrainian refugees. These initiatives are part of the national campaign ♥rt for Ukraine | Culture Supports Ukraine by the cultural organisations in our country. If you are unable to attend the concert but would like to make a donation, you can do so via Giro555, Samen in actie voor Oekraïne.
Jan Zoet, general director of Stichting Amare:
"As cultural institutions in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice, we think it’s necessary to show our support for the people of Ukraine. With music and theatre we want to show solidarity and our support in this difficult time. This joint benefit concert gives us the opportunity to support the national action through Giro555."
