Dance

🔸 THIS IS RAMBERT - Fri 11 & Sat 12 Sept
Rambert may be 100 years old, but this three-piece program proves they’re as lively as ever. Highlights include Hop(e)storm, a performance you’ll wish would never end: high-speed lindy hop and a rave by the incredibly talented Rambert dancers.

🔸 Everybody Dance Now – Sat 21 Nov
Exciting—the birth of a new festival. With a single festival ticket, enjoy social dances with great live music acts, workshops, and national and international dance performances that’ll make you want to dance. Together with all the amazing social dance organizations The Hague has to offer, such as Latin the Hague and Tango Moovs.
 
🔸 Ihsane - Thu 28 & Fri 29 Jan
Wow, who, whooo—this production of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s work by the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève is so rich in imagery and stories. “An overwhelmingly mystical journey,” wrote de Volkskrant, and I couldn’t agree more.
 
🔸 20 Dancers for the 20th Century and Even More – Sat 17 Apr
Twenty dancers bring dance solos back to life. From Charlie Chaplin and icons of modern dance to Kate Bush’s pop-up dance and Krump. Each dancer takes you on a journey through a different chapter of dance history. You choose your own route through the building and decide where to stop and watch, with the dancers always close by.

🔸 Tulip Town – a punk operetta - Tue 27 through Fri 30 Oct
With Operetta Land at the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, Steef de Jong has already shown how he can transform an operetta into a grand celebration with imagination and ingenuity, as if you were walking through a pop-up book.
 
🔸 EVITA – Tue 29 Dec through Sun 3 Jan
Celebrating 50 years of Evita, this musical concert features a 30-piece orchestra, a large choir, and top soloists Vajèn van den Bosch and Milan van Waardenburg.
 
🔸 CATS - Thu 20 through Sun 23 May
Want a sneak peek? On Saturday evening, September 5, Nurlaila Karim, who plays Grizabella in Cats, will give a sneak peek during the Spotlight preview night at Amare.

🔸 The Snowqueen by De Dutch Don’t Dance Division – Thu 24 through Mon 28 Dec
My heart melts every year during the Christmas productions by this club from The Hague: young and old on stage turn every Christmas fairy tale into a heartwarming production with a Hague twist.

🔸 Chotto Desh – Sun 17 Jan
A dance story for all ages featuring beautiful animations and Kathak dance. This production has been touring the world since 2015 and will be performed for the very, very last time in 2026. I saw it recently and was just as moved by it as I was back then.
 
🔸 Swan Lake – Sun 14 Feb
Every year, we enjoy Introdans’ family performances. There are also fun dance activities in the foyer at the Swan Lake Experium. And because it’s such a hit, there’s an extra performance!
 
🔸 BIG BANG Festival - Sun 4 Apr
The most fun music festival for kids, featuring concerts and hands-on activities. The program is still a secret for now, but be sure to mark April 4 on your calendar.
