Press and public agree: pianist, composer and arranger Marco Mezquida is one of the most promising pianists of this generation. With apparent ease he weaves modern jazz and classical music into a whole. In his home country Spain, Mezquida is revered for his dazzling performances.

The Asociación de Músicos de Jazz y Música Moderna de Cataluña (AMJM) chose him as musician of the year four times. Mezquida has already recorded more than forty albums, including ten with his own group. He also accompanied jazz icons such as Lee Konitz and Dave Liebman. Mezquida's new album Letter To Milos, which he presented at North Sea Jazz in 2022, is an ode to his child and includes all the musical styles he immersed himself in during his first year of life. From Latin to baroque and from progressive pop music to traditional Spanish styles such as corrido maragato and sorteao; Mezquida sets his wing on fire in every genre.

‘I may have written this more than once, but it is worth repeating: something changes in you after one of Mezquida's concerts. You arrive carrying the weight of the world on your back, and you leave as light as a feather weight. The world may care to put the heavy load back on you but, while the effect lasts, the world is great.
- Carlos Pérez Cruz – Club de Jazz Radio (2022)
